Glenergy install both Solar PV and Solar Thermal solar panels. Solar PV panels produce electricity and Solar Thermal panels produce heat. Both types of solar panels can have really useful applications in Ireland such as heating water and producing clean electricity to offset your bills and carbon emissions.
We know price is most important so we try to be as up front about costs as possible. Please see below for a list of common solar panel prices which will give you an idea of how much it costs to install solar panels. All prices would need a site survey to clarify them but they are in the right ballpark. We do lots of other sizes of solar panels and systems so if your preference is not below please give us a call to discuss your options on 01 5563100.
There are grants available for both Solar PV and Solar Thermal panels. You can see more information on grants for solar panels Click Here
SOLAR PV SYSTEMS
PRICE LIST:
- Grant funds €900 per kWp up to 2 kWp. After that €300 per kWp up to 4 kWp max.
- Grant is capped at €2400 in total.
- All homeowners, including landlords, whose homes were built and occupied before 2021 can apply. This is defined as the date your electricity meter was installed.
- A BER Assessment needs to be done after the panels are installed to get the grant.
EXTRAS
- SLATE ROOF: There is an additional 10 – 15% surcharge for systems on slate roofs.
- ELECTRIC IMMERSION DIVERT: i Boost System to divert excess energy to an electric immersion (non-heat pump system) €795 inc. VAT
- HEAT PUMP INTEGRATION UPGRADE: Integrate the Solar PV system with heat pump systems (5 – 10 panel systems only) cost €995 inc VAT extra.

Immersion Divert
To maximise the value of the electricity produced by your Solar PV system it is often advantageous to install an Immersion divert system. Any excess electricity that is not used by the electric appliances in your house will be diverted to your electric immersion and will heat your hot water. You essentially use your hot water cylinder as a battery to store energy. We use the superior i-boost system which ensures maximum energy efficiency.
Cost for this is €795 inc VAT.
Micro Inverters
In places where the panels can be partially shaded it can be advantageous to use micro -inverters as opposed to one string inverter. These are smaller inverters attached to each panel. This maximises the output of each panel and increases the yield of systems that will be shaded at some part of the day. Cost for this is an extra €100 per panel.
Notes:
1: V.A.T is @ 13.5 %.
2: The clients/or their agents are to satisfy themselves that all planning requirements are to their satisfaction.
3: A deposit of 70% is required. Payment for the installation is due prior to equipment/personnel arriving on site. No work will commence until payment is received and cleared.
4: The quotation is valid for 30 days from date of issue.
5: All calculations of yields are assumed for standard test conditions; these are subject to change due to rates, orientation and weather conditions. Specific site predictions are available on confirmation of order.
6: All prices are subject to a final site survey.
7: Panels and inverters may change due to the availability at time of installation. Any change will be notified in writing to the client for approval prior to installation.
8: Please satisfy yourself that you qualify for any SEAI grant available.
9: There is an additional 10 -15 % surcharge for systems on slate roofs. This is due to the increased technical and labour requirements for installing on slate roofs.
11: BER certificate not included in price.
12: The SEAI insist on the existing electrical system in the house being up to Current electrical regulations before they will pay out on grant funds. This may affect your grant being paid. We can advise but are not responsible for this item of the process.
Material Specification:
Solar Panels
We always use Tier 1 mono crystalline solar panels which indicates the highest quality available. These modules are also registered on the SEAI triple E approved quality list which is a list of higher performing energy products available in Ireland. We use these panels due to the modules achieving one of the highest efficiencies of any panels on the market. If you have a specific brand you prefer let us know and we can give you a quote using these panels.
Warranty:
- 10-year product guarantee
- 25-year linear performance Warranty.
- IEC and CE certified
- SEAI Triple E registered
Inverter
We supply Trannergy (10 year warranty) Solis and Fronius solar inverters with our solar systems. All inverters are high quality and type tested for Irish grid connections. All come with online monitoring capabilities through web portals and apps.
Batteries.
We supply Pylontech solar batteries which are modular and can be expanded in capacity.
Mounting Frame
Our standard framing system fulfils the following standards and technical directives:
- Euro code 9 — DIN V ENV 1999-1-1: Design of aluminium structures
- DIN 1055 — Actions on structures: Basis of design, safety concept and design.
Or we can manufacture frames to specific requirements, this will require a specific quote.
